Milly Update: We found out yesterday that Milly is over her Jaundice and doesn't have to get tested or have to be in the lights anymore!! YAY!!!!!!! We are soo happy! I can finally dress my baby in all the cute clothes I got her! She is changing soo much everyday! She isn't sleeping very good during the night but we're dealing with it. If you guys have any tips on how you got your babies to sleep better, PLEASE SHARE!! it's kinda getting hard for me to be up with her for 5-6 hours straight a night. The only way we can get her to sleep longer the a half hour is for her to sleep in our arms! We will figure it out soon!

oh she is so beautiful! :) Its soooo much fun to dress them up right?! I Love it. Its like dressing up your dolls all over again :) oh girl.. that sleep schedule sounds horrible!! So I didn't start until Reag was about 4 months old... but next baby I will probably start sooner maybe... well back up- at two months we started laying her in her crib and giving her her binky and saying it was time for night night.. we would leave and she would cry for like 5 minutes and then I would go back in and put the binky in. Sometimes we had to do it MANY times.. but eventually she would go to sleep on her own and now most naps I lay her down and she falls right to sleep. Rocking them is fun and I dont regret having that experience for the first couple of weeks but it tires you out and takes a LONG time to get them to fall asleep.. and like you said.. they wake up after you set them down. And you still get to rock them to sleep and hold them each week in church! So I recommend that early on. At 4 months we started doing the same thing in the night.. I figured she was just waking up out of habit since it was the same time each night so I would go put her binky in and she seriously screamed bloody murder but I would let her cry for like 5 minutes and then usually she would go to sleep after I put her binky in. Now she sleeps about 8 hours most nights so it was worth a few rough nights! It took about a week for her to get the hang of it. I probably wouldn't try that earlier than 2 or 3 months. Have you read babywise?? I read that one and also.. the baby whisperer (cheesy name!) and they helped me. I kinda just took bits and pieces from both, but it helped me a ton!! You will figure things out each day.. its kinda scary but it gets easier I promise! Love ya!

Sarah something that saved me with my little girl was giving her a bath right before bed. Once I did that I would get her in her pj's and rock her as I fed her. The bath right before bed helped her know when it was time to go to bed. Just an idea.

try and keep her up durning the day as much as you can. i know your tired so all you want to do is sleep when she sleeps during the day but when you feed her keep her awake.even if she cries a lot it will save you for the night! its also good for a baby to cry a little it develops their lungs more even though its so hard to let them cry. i don't usually start getting my babies on schedule till there almost 3 months. its hard when there new born cause they sleep so much as it is. Im sorry she cries a lot hopefully it will fade away. try getting gas drops. i hope that helps! good luck girl hang in there!! :)

sarah, i too recommend babywise! but what helped me with olivia was keeping her up in the day time. then it makes her tired and she will sleep the night. this early on, you can wake her up to feed her throughout the day, but do not wake her up to feed her at night. olivia started sleeping the night at 2 weeks! well, 10-6! then when she started teething (mostly around 6 months old) she would start to wake up throughout the night alot, and i would feed her back to sleep until about 7 months i let her cry it out. i think it's important that they learn that when they wake up through the night they can roll over and fall back asleep (like we do) instead of needing mommy to come in and feed them back to sleep or give them their pacifier.

I always made sure there was noise and it wasn't super dark when they slept during the day that way they start to understand day is light with noise and night is dark and quiet. I also let Taylee sleep in her swing for a month or so but once I knew she was in a good sleep, I would turn off the swing, I think the motion and the noise from the swing helped soothe her...hopefully this helps a little!
