Milly Update: We found out yesterday that Milly is over her Jaundice and doesn't have to get tested or have to be in the lights anymore!! YAY!!!!!!! We are soo happy! I can finally dress my baby in all the cute clothes I got her! She is changing soo much everyday! She isn't sleeping very good during the night but we're dealing with it. If you guys have any tips on how you got your babies to sleep better, PLEASE SHARE!! it's kinda getting hard for me to be up with her for 5-6 hours straight a night. The only way we can get her to sleep longer the a half hour is for her to sleep in our arms! We will figure it out soon!
Picture overload. Please don't judge, we look exhausted in all these pictures and I can't believe I am actually posting some of these! But I think they all capture exactly how we were feeling. I tried to take pictures of everyone that came to visit. I forgot to take a couple of them so if you came to visit us and I forgot to take a picture, I'm sorry.
Going home!! Yay!! Thanks to Jer and Mick for decorating our house! It was so cute! And fun to come home to that! My dad came down to meet Milly. And the torture begins. The second day of having Milly home we found out that her Bilirubin score had gone way high and was almost high enough to have her hospitalized. So we had to go this suit case for her to be in constantly! The only time we could take her out was to feed her and change her diaper. This is complete torture for new parents! We both have bawled multiple times over having to put her in this thing when we wanna hold her.
Her favorite cousin came to visit her and hold her little hand while she was in this contraption. So cute! Jessica is so obsessed with Milly, she bugs and bugs her mom to come over everday and do what she calls "babysit" the baby which is really just holding her for a couple minutes. When Jess came to visit on this day I walked into the living room and Jess says to me "look what I got!!" haha she is so funny! So the latest update on Milly's Jaundice is: She was in the lights for 2 days and nights and we had her tested again and her score had dropped way down so they told us that she could be out of the lights and that we would just keep testing her to make sure it stayed down. So sunday and monday she was out of the lights. Then on Tuesday we got her tested again and her number had sky rocketed. It went higher then it was when they first told us we had to put her in. 2 points from having to be hospitalized. So as of right now she is in the lights. Hence why I am doing this post at 5 in the morning cuz we have been up all night watching her. That is one of the hardest parts is we can't just put her in there and let her sleep while we sleep, we have to sit an watch her constantly, cuz her temperture could either go way high or way low very easily while in the lights. I feel so bad for my baby. I just keep praying that she will get over this quickly and that none of our other kids will ever have to do this! It's NO fun! Welp she is waking up to feed so I will have to post more later! {sarah}
Oh P.S. I will be making our blog private hopefully by this weekend so keep sending me your emails!
We are extremely happy to introduce Milly Hiatt! She was born on Oct. 20, 2010 at 6:33 a.m. Weighs 8 pounds and is 20 inches tall! She's such an amazing baby!
The labor and delivery were so awesome! We went to the doctor on Wed. at 3 and he stripped my membranes for the second time. He had already stripped someone elses membranes that day and they had already had their baby so he was hoping to make us the second family to have their baby that day! Dr. Thompson is so awesome! It didn't hurt near as bad as it did the first time. I instantly started having contraction. They got stronger and closer together as the afternoon went on. By 11:30 they were 3-5 minutes apart lasting a minute to two minutes. And the pain was indescribable. I was dilated to a 2 at my appointment and when we got to the hospital I was dilated to a 3. They checked me again after only 45 minutes and I was already to a 4. So things were moving quickly. They got me to my room and within 10 minutes I was getting my epidural. I was amazed at how easy and painless it was to get the epidural. It worked great. There was one little spot on the left side of my stomach that I was feeling the contractions still but it was bearable. After a couple hours they started me on pitosin just to keep my contraction rhythmic because the epidural was making them slow down. I reacted so fast with that that after a hour they turned it off. I went from a 4 to a 7 within that time. It was about 4:30 when they turned it off. We were trying to sleep a little bit through all this but we were so excited that we could not keep our eyes closed!! After about an hour I started to feel alot more pressure. They checked me and I was at an 8. From here things went so fast that it's all kinda blurry but I will do my best! We called Brady's parents and had them come over to the hospital, good thing. My mom had left SLC at 1:30 to come down here and had stopped and grabbed my sister in law to drive down with her. Thank heavens for that. I don't think she would have made it down alive if she hadn't done that. By 5:30 or so they checked me again and I was at a 9. They call Dr. Thompson to have him come brake my water. With in 15 minutes the doctor showed up and broke my water. My epidural had started to wear off on the top half of my stomach along with that left side so I was thankful that we were about to start pushing. It made me start to feel a little nauseous and poor Brady was feeling a little queasy himself. They had me do a couple practice pushes and then at 6:15 I started really pushing with every contraction. With in 18 minutes my little girl was out and placed on my stomach! Because things happened so fast my mom barely missed it by about 15 minutes but I'm so grateful for the sacrifice she made to drive down in the middle of the night to see her new granddaughter! I'm so grateful to have my beautiful baby girl here and to have her be healthy. The whole experience was pretty amazing to me! I am so thankful that it all went so smoothly! We are blessed for sure. We spent the next 24 hrs in the hospital and then headed home. The next day they tested her Bilirubin levels and they had jumped up to the high levels and so we have to put her in the bili light suitcase. She was in that for her first and second night home and then we were able to take her out. That was torture for us! Brady and I both bawled a few times during those days. Things are a lot easy now that she can have clothes on and sleep in her bed and not have to constantly (24 hours a day) be watched. We fall more and more in love with her cute little face everyday and we feel so blessed to be able to be her parents.
Also now that 99% of my posts on this blog will be about my baby girl, I am going to make my blog private. Please send me your emails if you would like to be able to continue to look at our blog! :) {sarah+brady}
Just got back from the doctor. Still dilated to a 1 1/2, but I'm now 80% effaced. I had my membranes stripped, and holy hell that hurt! Never again. I started my walks again now that my mom is back from Europe. Hopefully this baby girl will come in the next couple weeks. If anyone has any tips to help things progress please share! I'm done. I'm pretty sure by the way she has been kicking and stretching out lately that she's done being in there! I have come to the conclusion that once you start to think that you would be better off with a crying baby then being pregnant it's time to get the show on the road! {sarah}
I feel so sad right now for one of my good friends from hair school. Her and her family are going through a very sad/hard trial right now. She is pregnant with twins and found out a few days ago that her twins have a VERY RARE condition called Twin To Twin Transfusion syndrome or TTTS. She had a surgery done on wednesday night to try and save her baby girls. Everything went great with the surgery. Everything was looking great until this morning, they did an ultrasound to check the condition of the babies and found out that one of them had not made it through the night. I can't imagine, it breaks my heart to imagine losing my baby. The other scary part of all this is she is only 20 weeks and has been having contractions and has a cervical cerclage, which puts her other baby at risk. If you would like to read more about her story, you can here. Please pray for Steph and her baby girl. {sarah}
So last night (Saturday) I was hanging out at my in laws and I started having contractions. At first I didn't think too much of them but after about 20 they began to get alot more painful then any of the other contractions I have ever felt before. I started timing them thinking they were about 10 minutes apart but I was way off! They were 4-5 minutes apart and getting harder and harder. I timed them untill midnight and they stayed about 4-5 min apart until about 1 by this time I had had Brady take over timing them because they were getting so strong. And I began to get annoyed with timing them! Around 1 the started to get A LOT stronger and closer. They were down to 3 minutes apart and I couldn't talk through them anymore, and some even got me crying. After 20 minutes of watching this Brady couldn't handle anymore so he called the hospital to see if we should come in. They told us to wait another 40 minutes before we came in. We waited another hour and they stayed at 3 minutes apart and they continued to be very hard. I was done waiting by now. We went to the hospital and they hooked me up to the monitors and took a pee sample. They checked me and I was at dilated at a 1 still and 60% effaced. They monitored me for an hour and then checked me again. I hadn't progressed, thank goodness. But I did have a UTI and that is what was causing these contractions. They gave me a pain killer an a sleeping pill and an antibiotic and sent me home. I got home around 4 needless to say it was a long night. {sarah}
