Back to Blogging/ journaling

I've recently felt like I need to keep a better record of the happenings in my little family and blogging seems to always be my journal of choice! So here I am!
Sooo much has happen since I last updated our blog. I'm going to do my best at giving an accurate account of what has happened!
I updated last in January on my pregnancy. And that all went great! Got nice and fat and once again Brady and I made a BEAUTIFUL baby! We feel so lucky so have such beautiful girls, I'm sure down the road when the boys start knocking on our door we won't be feeling so lucky!
A condensed version of Emmy's birth story:
At 36 weeks I started having false labor almost every night. My contractions would be 2-4 minutes apart and then I would lay down and they would stop. I was also dilated to a 3 and 70%thinned. By the next weeks Dr appt I was to a 4 and still 70% and continued to have false labor I went in to L&D one night because I could tell I had a UTI and my contractions were hard and didn't go away when I laid down like usual. Sure enough I had a UTI and was sent home. A few nights later I woke up and sneeze and thought my water broke but really I just peed my pants! Gotta love the joys of pregnancy! So now in a matter of 3 days I had go into L&D 2 times and been sent home both times! Oh AND I was now dilated to a 5 but was only 80% thinned so they couldn't keep me. (Sooo lame) Now it was conference weekend and we were doing everything to get me to go into labor! My false labor continued to trick me and I went in one last time and before I left for L&D I told Brady if they don't keep me I'm just gonna have this baby at home, no more hospitals for me! So I got there with contractions that were 3 and 5 minutes apart. My nurse said I was still at a 5 and 80% so they would have to keep me an hour and see how I progressed. She also mentioned that my Dr was at the hospital about to deliver another baby and winked at me! I said a little prayer that they would be able to keep me! And sure enough 5 minutes later she rushes back in, and says we are keeping you as long as I can get you all hooked up before he delivers this other baby! So we practically ran into the room and she got me all hooked up! 20 minutes later Dr Lunt came and broke my water. That was such a weird sensation! I have to say i didn't like that at all! I called Brady right before to let him know that I was staying and that he would need to come to the hospital! They started my Pit and I decided to wait to get my epidural till Brady got there. BAD IDEA! I hate pit and seem to react quickly to it! So I got my epidural and it did not go as smoothly as it did with Milly. He kept hitting scare tissue from where my epidural was with Milly and it took about 25 minutes for him to get it placed, all the while I'm still on pit and having the longest hardest contractions! I wanted to die!
Now I'm thinking the worst is over. SIKE! My epidural was not working AT ALL!! My butt was completely numb and that was it. When I go into labor I go hard, 3 minute long contractions. Seriously I had a 4 MINUTE LONG CONTRACTION! Try that on for size! I was going to kill someone at this point and Brady was too! Lets give you some magic juice the Dr says. I'm all for it at this point. And I ask the nurse to turn off the pit and she checks me and I'm at a 7!! In 1 hour I went from a 5 to a 7! She says that's why I wasn't getting numb, it couldn't catch up with how quickly I was progressing. The rest of the delivery went PERFECT! I finally got numb, started pit again. And started pushing at 5:30 and by 5:46 she was placed on my chest! Miss Emmy Hiatt was born at 5:46 am weighing 7lb 12 oz and was 20 inches long. And completely perfect. Those first moments of my children's lives are ones I will never forget as long as I live.

Emmy Lou was the best baby! I couldn't have asked for a sweeter child! She was great at nursing and we instantly bonded! Bringing her home was a little scary but Milly did great and so did everyone else! Milly was SOO excited to finally meet her baby sister! She was pretty confused by nursing! She says "she eat da booby???" I wish I could have caught that reaction on camera it was priceless! A family of 4 we are! So far baby number 2 has been a breeze compared to 1 for me. I was soo shocked with Milly and didn't have a single clue what I was doing. Emmy has been a completely different story! No jaundice (THANK HEAVENS) and just a sweet baby!
That's all for my update for right now! More to come! Emmys first few months, our first summer in St George, and all the little moment along the way!

Milly does...

Tonight we let Milly cry it out. We could see that she had turned on her light and had stopped crying so we went to check on her and when Brady tried to open the door he couldn't really open it cuz Milly had fallen asleep on the floor in front on the door!

Milly says...

This was so funny! Brady and I were laughing our heads off! Milly was eating a snack in her high chair and farted. And of course she started laughing at herself and yelled "did you hear that dad!!?!"

Pregnancy Update

I thought I would do a little update on this pregnancy, I was so much better about doing updates when I was pregnant with Milly but this time I am a little bit busier chasing around a 2 year old. I am 25.5 weeks right now. We are having another girl! I'm so excited! The names we like are Emmy, Claire, and Jenna. Emmy is our Favorite though. I found out I was pregnant when we were in Virginia, and we had been trying for about 8 months so I wasn't really surprised when I found out. Just THRILLED and a tad nauseous. I actually started feeling sick a couple nights in a row and thought it was probably something I ate cuz I was still a week away from even missing my period. But I went and bought a test and waited a few more days and got a positive test. All of that was so different from how things went with Milly. A few weeks later I started spotting and my dr put me on what I call a "relaxed" version of bed rest and he also had me taking progesterone and when I started spotting he upped my dose big time. I was pretty sad that we couldn't go and do all the fun site seeing things in virginia and DC because of all this. One day we will go back and get to see it all! All I have to say is I was terrified and grateful for my husband and to have at least 1 wife out there in our office. My Dr had me go to a Dr in Virginia and have an ultrasound done to make sure the baby was ok. Sure enough the baby had a good strong heart beat and was measuring right on schedule. I was 8 weeks at the time. I spotted for another 2 weeks and a few weeks after that we headed back home to St George. We found out at 16 weeks that we were having another girl. She looks just like her sisters profile did in her ultrasounds. I have had morning sickness again the whole time just like I did with Milly. A couple weekends ago I ran out of zofran and I couldn't get another prescription till the following Monday and that ended up being a terrible weekend. If I take half a zofran before bed I wake up feeling totally fine, if I don't I wake up a lot earlier then normal puking my guts out and continue to puke for the rest of the day! No fun but so thankful for medicine to help me feel better!
I started feeling the baby move around 15 weeks. I also started to show a lot earlier this time!
So far I've gained about 15 pounds! (Go me! Lol) I'm hoping I don't have gestational diabetes this time around! Crossing my fingers! I have my glucose test next week.
I crave everything I see! Lol I have been craving a lot of sour candy, french fries, and a really good cheese burger! Not that cheap McDonald's crap but frost top queen burger or in and out double double is soo good to me! Gross I know! I haven't been a good meat eater since BEFORE I got pregnant with Milly.
I do have a lot of heart burn this time again so I'm hoping little sister has as much hair as big sister did!
I have had a lot more sciatic pain this pregnancy. I'll say this, giving birth does a number on your body and I am feeling a lot more pain this time then I remember feeling with Milly. But at this point 85% of my day I feel GREAT! And I am really trying to enjoy it as much as possible! I know I only have about another month maybe month and a half before I really start to get uncomfortable!
On to the pictures!
